FEATURED ETSY ARTIST - SourKitten Glass

Sourkittenglass lives in Toronto and received her B.A. in Fine Arts from U of T. Currently she is studying Fashion Design at George Brown College. About a year ago, shortly after graduating from the U ofT, she took up the art of fused glass and fell in love with it and it quickly grew into a business. Sourkittenglass gets inspired by modern art, tattoos, and asian imagery. To create the pieces, she uses two traditional art forms and combines them to make totally unique pieces - glass fusing, and silkscreening. The silkscreening is made by using the photoemulsion method. To print the designs onto the glass, she uses a special print that when fired in the kiln becomes a permanent part of the glass suface. Upon graduation from her current studies in Fashion Design Sourkittenglass plans on opening up her own boutique and selling limited edition clothing and custom alternative bridal and evening wear. To view her current passion of working with fusion glass please go to : www.sourkittenglass.etsy.com. Sourkittenglass has beautiful work so give yourself a treat by visiting her etsy store.

6 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME - I"ve been tagged by Knot By Gran'ma

It is always fun to learn random things about others - Iv's been tagged by Knot By Gran'ma and in turn I will tag 6 others to share 6 things about themselves. About me:
1. One of my favorite pieces of music is Handel's Messiah (sounds stuffy hun!!) But when the Hallelujah chorus starts I am probably one of the first to stand up! I just love it! 2. When I tried out for the college choir the instructor said my voice was "negligible" (How is that for a confidence builder?) 3. When I became pregnant with my first child I told the doctor that I did not like pain (a bit of a baby myself!) so what could I do to have an easy birth? His advice: a. Follow the child birth exercises that he gave me. b. eat unprocessed grains, fruit, vegetables (no sugar, white flour, or processed foods) c. drink 8 glassed of water daily. (I placed toothpicks on the window sill to keep track of each glass I drank) I faithfully followed his advice to the tee .... So ------ when it came time to deliver the baby ............... 4.My husband went to work because I said - "first babies take forever - no use of his standing around waiting so long!" 5. My mother in-law took me to the hospital and she went down to have pie and coffee just to pass away some time -" because first babies take so long!" 6.The doctor came in and checked me and he left because he said "first babies take so". long!" 7. The nurse got me settled in, checked me and left "because first babies take so long"! Within 45 min. of my entering the hospital, my water broke, I felt I had to use the restroom and then the nurse came in and she said - no - do not use the restroom you are having your baby!!!! So ---- pant, pant - and off to the labor room - no husband, no mother-in-law, no doctor, (but he did come quickly) and before I knew it a beautiful baby boy - no pain, just a very happy new mother! I had done a lot of squatting during the entire 9 months plus numerous other exercises and the doctor said it was just like the women in other countries that squat and work in the fields and have their babies so easily. The remarkable thing is that this was 1956 and "natural child birth" was hardly heard of but my particular doctor was quite advanced for his time. I had the same results with the other bay! Now I would like to tag 6 nice people to share the random things about themselves - just come to my blog, let me know on the commts that you want to take part and we can enjoy all the fun things about you! 1. allgoodgirlsaremary's.blog.com 2. amkstitches.blogspot.co, 3. dandyapple.blogspot.com 4. naptimecrafts.blogspot.com 5. northstaralpacas.blogspot.com 6. poshpiggy.blogspot.com Thank You!
