Meet this fantastic artist extraordinary! George has been creating his art for over 20 years. He has a Masters degree in Painting and Drawing from East Carolina University. As George says , "I take my artwork seriously but I try not to take myself too seriously." McKim's passion is his art and his "day job" is working for a printing company as a graphic artist. Vincent Van Gogh is at the top of his list for inspiration. Nature brings inspiration as a great source of colors, spatial relationships and pictorial imagery. George McKim starts his art projects with a vague, beginning idea which then develops into an ever changing composition with the end results of great color, imagination and a completed beautiful work of art! One of the interesting and uniques things about George McKim's art is that the viewer can participate as he views the work, uses his own visual understanding of the art and draws his own conclusion of what it is saying. Many of the symbols depicted resemble images from fancy kimonos: cranes for long life; bamboo for flexibility; plum blossoms and pine boughs for beauty and longevity."
