I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream

We all have a reason to scream...have you noticed that you pay more for less? For Ice scream, check out the carton next time you pick one up. Does it seem a little smaller, but cost more for ounces? Thats right we are paying more for less. And it isn't just for ice cream, it applies to other items as well, the boxes are smaller but we pay more. Check your cereal, your coffee, what ever.

Let me know what you have discovered ... leave a comment and lets compare notes!

I love my chocolate ice cream! Mmmm... You are right though, price per ounce is an important thing to consider when you are shopping around for the best deal.

You don't want to know what I paid for a single frozen ice cream treat today! But it was sooooo delicious!

We eat a lot of ice cream. I always try to get store brands when they are on sale... The cost of ice cream is crazy!

I buy our ice cream at Sam's club. It is definitely cheaper than the grocery stores~unless they are running a special. Whoever has it cheapest is where I will buy it. I will stock up if the price is really good~thank goodness for the extra freezer in the garage.

You are 100% right. Everything is shrinking. Our savings too. I'm sure it is all going into someone's pocket end of the day. Now, it is for oil export countries.

Yes, we are crazy for the Thrifty brand of ice cream -- their black cherry is like none other, but it is not sold near our winter home, so we look forward to it as a summer treat. But this year when we got back to Thrifty Ice Cream Territory, as we call our summer place, we noticed right away that the price had gone up and the ounces had gone down. It is still a pretty good value though.

The little fancy little bottles of drinkable yogurt sure are a caution, though, aren't they?

I actually FOUND a true 1/2 gallon of ice cream the other day.

I was NOT with the other major brands.

The light over that section was BROKEN so this product was in the dark AND...

They had a sale 2/$5

So I bought them.

The brand?

Good Day. Remember them?

Of course, the packaging was the old-style box with the side flaps - nothing nice like the newer ones. I'd actually forgotten about that until I picked up my gallon of ice cream.

It was very yummy too.

I keep watching for a sale again. I like that deal!
