Summer is coming to an end so we decided to take a trip to Mt. Shasta, California located near the Oregon border.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Veterans Memorial Park just outside of Mt. Shasta. The park has a Memorial War which has the names of men and women who died during World War II, the Korean War and Viet Nam. The park is maintained to give honor to these men and woman.
An artist donated all of the sculptures which depict different aspects of the wars.
Viewing this work was very humbling and it gave a renewed appreciation to the men and woman who served to keep this country free.
